eol, the sports marketing agency specialising in sailing, is organising the Tour de Belle-Ile 2009 from 8th to 10th May 2009, the race taking place on 9th May 2009, under the aegis of the French Sailing Federation (FFV).
a) The races are governed by the Race Rules of Sailing 2009-2012, the FFV instructions, (compulsory licences in particular), class rules, the present Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions, the latter taking precedence over all the others.
b) The Tour de Belle-Ile is raced in category C of the Advertising Code - Article 20 of the ISAF ruling.
c) Participants of foreign nationality should have in their possession the equivalent of a French sailing licence, or, failing that a civil liability insurance certificate for a sum of 1,500,000 euros, as well as a medical certificate without contraindication to the practice of sailing.
d) The event is reserved for yachts measuring OVER 6.49 METRES, in accordance with the maritime legislation in force, and with the minimum of a ‘coastal zone’ category (- 6 miles from shelter).
e) To enforce rule 20.3.1.d of the ISAF advertising code, specific identification (stickers) will be presented by the organisation and must be visible on the yacht throughout the race.
IRC class yachts divided into five categories.
Habitable multihulls with the MULTI2000 measurement
One design classes: a series must comprise a minimum of six participants. In the contrary situation, the yachts will race in the appropriate IRC class or within the “Free Class".
All monohull or multihull yachts measuring over 6.49m (except for the 6.50 m Sportsboat) will be brought together within the class referred to as the “Free Class".
The registration of a yacht without a sail number will not be accepted.
It is compulsory that a sail number be displayed in the mainsail at least.

The registration form must be returned to eol before 8th May 2009. An increase of 20% of the registration costs will be applied to forms received after 30th April 2009.
Acknowledgement of receipt will be sent via email on receipt of the duly completed form. For yachts racing within the "free class", which don't already have a sail number, the number to be inscribed on the sails will be specified to them.
For any registrations, which are cancelled before 30th April, a sum of 35€ will be conserved by the organisation (file costs). After this date, the registration amount will remain in the possession of the organisation.
Minimum requirement for your registration to be validated:
Duly completed registration form (except the crew list, which must be completed as soon as possible and by Friday 8th May 2009 at the latest).
Participation costs in Euros (solely a FRENCH cheque). A registration form without the payment of costs will not be eligible.
To be attached to the form or to be sent as soon as possible and prior to 30th April imperatively:
Copy of the yacht's insurance certificate.
Copy of the IRC measurement certificate 2009 for yachts wishing to race in this category.
Copy of the MULTI2000 measurement certificate 2009 for yachts wishing to race in this category
Copy of class membership certificate for 2009 for any one design (class recognised by the FFV and/ or the ISAF)
In order for the file to be complete you must, as soon as possible, and by Friday 8th May at the latest, communicate the following information and pieces of identification to us:
Validated 2009 licences (medical stamp of approval plus parental authorisation for anyone under 18) or, for any foreign competitor, an equivalent document and/ or Civil Liability insurance certificate amounting to 1.5 million Euros, as well as a medical certificate with no contraindication to the practice of sailing.
Certificate of conformity of the yacht (for any French boat, 1st page of certificate of registration as a French vessel, plus the authorised sailing category)
2009 advertising card for any sponsored boat.
Tour de Belle-Ile measuring around 41 nautical miles : starting from the middle of the bay of Quiberon, rounding of Belle-Ile leaving the island to port and returning to the departure/finish line.

The RRS Low Point Scoring System described in Appendix A of the RRS shall apply.

An increase of 20% will be applied for registrations received after 22nd April 2009.
It is the responsibility of each competitor to decide for him or herself whether he or she should take the start or remain racing.
The skippers are personally responsible for any material or physical accident affecting their boat or the crew. It shall be the skipper’s sole responsibility to acquire all the necessary insurance.
The registering of the yacht implies, as far as the settling of any related disputes therein, giving up any right to appeal other than those set down in the RRS.
For boats without an annual contract, the Port of La Trinité-sur-Mer is providing free berthing in port from Thursday 7th May to Monday 11th May 2009 for those participating in the Tour de Belle-Ile 09.
